Author's Notes: This verse poem is our second portrait look at this very compelling theme on "The Last Red Rose of Autumn," from a specific descriptive perspective as part of Mother Nature's annual promise that  after Winter, "newborn red roses" shall once again return during the Spring-Summer time frame and captivate us with their full redolence and true beauty. Hello Dear Heidi, Thanks again for your read here!! Yes, this was a technique my wife had proposed with the concept of a second portrait. (We did this once before in an Imagism poem a couple of months ago where we decided to do a second poem as companion poem to the first one that had a complimentary view to the first one, but approached the theme from another perspective.) Cheers and Best!! Gary

Spring returns bringing the rebirth of the beauty that has been away far too long. Tom.

Hello Tom, Thanks for your read and comment!! You are spot-on for sure with what you say. And wouldn't you know it, Winter is already making its presence known. Cheers and Best, Gary
