The Hunt

We waited
Alongside mountains of grey rocks
The heat creating waterless waves in the air
Parched, and weakened
But our anger would give us the strength..
When they came
And they would come,
They always did
Took what they wanted
Leaving agonizing carnage
This time it would be different
Strength in numbers
At dawn we heard the sound
The fateful purring of many motors
Waited for the moment......
With a thunderous sound
The hunters were hunted
Trampled mercilessly
By the massive herd
In the
Revenge of the Elephants
