The God Monster

Does the God Monster steal our dreams in the middle of the night? The child asked. His mother was startled. "What God Monster?" The one who puts the stars in the sky, the God Monster who travels from universe to universe, and makes children mind. The Big God Monster, the child replied. Oh, THAT God Monster. No he does not steal dreams, he delivers them. They are your gift from Him, his wise mother explained. The child went to bed purposefully, waiting for the God Monster.

It's interesting the things kids come up with (although you can't blame them from some of the crazy stuff they hear)... glad there was a "wise mother" there to explain things! ;)

I had to throw a wise woman in who would not over-react.

Great poem, wise mother indeed. Am I having deja vu or are they really listening.

All of my poems had to be re-posted today, as a computer glitch threw them all off of the site. Worse, the contest that I judged and finalized this morning had to be re-judged and finalized again. I am sure I did not judge it exactly the same way twice, so that felt pretty uncomfortable.
