Elephants Live

And then the Head Elephant rose from the dead Surprising and shocking everyone All cheered, “He is alive!” they shouted “He lives!” The opposition wrung their hands, Beads of sweat poured from their brows. They had been so sure, so smug of victory. “What happened?” In the way God walks, mysteriously and silently, That question is moot God ordained the good of heart to eat it one more time He was tired of do-gooders crying and not doing the right things But doing nothing about the dire conditions they helped create With puny efforts against obstinate opposing walls of resistance Sluggish inaction bred complacency Bringing foreseen conditions, as predicted The minions celebrated their victory and rejoiced They had reclaimed what they perceived to be only theirs From today on things would be different, Very different indeed But all was not perfect in Elephant-landia The bickering began as soon as the results were in People chosen to lead by the Head Elephant were not unanimous Happiness was short lived. The Head Elephant would have none of it He threw out the dissenters and dreamers kept the Loyalists and made them sign an oath meekly, but under a selfish indulgence, they signed The Head Elephant threw a huge party for his followers All had a great time The Head Elephant looked around at the mono-chromatic color in the room “My people! Enjoy yourselves, tomorrow we begin to recover our America." All cheered and knew what he meant The wait had been too long, now the wait seemed redundantly laughable They felt God had indeed sent this leader to kick start the Fourth Reich. Part 11 And what a kick it would turn out to be. All of the 95% felt real feel good Profits would be much better now. Is there a silver lining to this political takeover? Is there any one who can understand their lack of heart? Can anyone overcome this surreptitious fake moderator of change regurgitating vile venom on the backs of lies, bigotry and self-righteousness? God bless the child not born to wealth, or the cripple afflicted with no healthcare insurance or the elderly inflicted with no medicare or SSI or the countless bodies lying in mortuaries unable to be buried because they had no money. But glory be to the powerful, the rich, heartless Elephants of right wing conservative thought that are beyond the law now and companies who confiscate the Constitution and the Bill of Rights along with the working man’s pay to grease the palms of judges used to buy very biased courts Glory be to all the Elephants for they have the moola, the scratch, the money stolen by rich, powerful and heartless Elephants of hotel construction. And so goes the dream of yesteryear down the porcelain commode making moot the edict that one man one vote was the answer but not when powerful Elephants get together to conspire against the working man's vote and the Constitution of the United States of America
