Love is a dream, even when you’re awake,
a fantasy that your heart created.
Addicted to its sweet, euphoric ache,
you are enchanted and fascinated.
Love is a two-edged sword, sharp as a knife,
capable of wounding without remorse.
And yet, its presence gives purpose to life
when altruistic thoughts flow; it's the source.
Love is a wish that's tethered to the soul,
an undefinable, unique feeling.
And it's the missing piece that makes you whole,
a hope that morphs into trust and healing.
Love is a gift that humanity shares,
combining hearts, it sorts souls into pairs.
