The Day My Lover Left-Contest
It's a cold and hollow feeling
When reality arrives
A lost foreboding emptiness
That gnaws at your insides
A last goodbye can't really mean
That all is at an end
What words to change this torment
Even if, but to pretend
A word in anger said in haste
Has all but robbed of me
The treasure of fulfillment
For all this love could be
What value gained from hurt and pain
In choices to impose
If but my heart could change this fate
With the music of this prose.
