The Changing Nature of Mother
With lightest touch
of the mother,
drifting in satin
a pearl like no other
Comets that streak
and grace the sky,
crown your head
and alight like fire
Sadness draping
in sapphire folds,
Shimmering softly
your spirit holds
Embracing the world
with joy and smiles,
dreaming the sleeping
through fantasy’s mile
Warping life you
bend and break,
shivering nights
do breathe to shake
The glisten of dew
that lights the bloom
the shimmer of fire
that brights the room
In sadness you walk
in might and alone,
lighting the world
as long you roam
Holding the reigns
of nature firm,
you watch us ants
begin to squirm
