Tall
and proud,
at the entrance
to Malta’s Grand Harbour,
the siege bell memorial stands.
In honour of all the valiant people
who lost their lives in world war two
the bell
tolls.

Thank you Susan. I believe that in order to concentrate on acquiring a bell's shape I somehow neglected the poetic part of this poem. I could have done better. ~ Warm regards // paul

Thank you, John. The form is not hard to write; of course the theme does not have to be about bells! Regards // paul

Very impressive Paul, this seems to be a difficult form, and you've managed in such a descriptive way to convey a powerful message, while fitting the words in the shape. Good luck in the contest...Maria

Thank you, Ilene. Getting the syllable count right is not a problem...it is harder to get the words to fit lengthwise in such a way as to keep the bell shape intact. Regards // paul
