The Beauty of Life
Heart’s racing and I’m pacing
faster than this life I’m facing.
Need for speed is ascending me,
what is this high I keep chasing?
It’s the thrill I have without a pill,
now, I have not a void to fulfill.
But what is keeping me running?
It’s the skill of sobriety’s chill.
The fear of without gave doubt,
but now sobriety makes me shout.
I need not a physical high anymore,
but a natural one is the only route.
Now my amphetamine is something that you may not understand,
it’s the thing that keeps me waking up each and every morning.
That nasty rock bottom hit me hard without any given warning,
and now my healthy and moderate lifestyle has the higher hand.
My upper is the beauty of life,
being a mother and loving wife.
No more chasing an amphetamine-
now I live a life serene and clean.
