Note. Midnight she called her beloved dog, her companion for twelve wonderful years. He was hit by a car that tragic day and she has never had another to replace that which to her was irreplaceable.
That Darkest Day, The Death Of Her Midnight
She cried out profusely, please do not die,
only last week, you my love, ran so well.
He was down, so pitiful where he lie
mangled in that blood soaked road where he fell.
Her tears fell and rising sun paled so quick.
Then she noticed his black hair was so thick.
Midnight moved, looked as if to implore,
yet that brief spell of hope ran away too fast.
She thought why had she not seen before,
that very moment, Midnight breathed his last.
Her tears fell and rising sun paled so quick.
Then she noticed his black hair was so thick.
She reached out, to touch his fast fleeing ghost
its image stood there and then flew away.
Never another, she loved him the most
thoughts of nights they walked beach sands in the bay.
Her tears fell and rising sun paled so quick.
Then she noticed his black hair was so thick.
Stranger stopped and asked, Miss, was that your dog,
she had not the strength to give a reply.
Her world was dark and her head in a fog
all she said was, why did he have to die.
Her tears fell and rising sun paled so quick.
Then she noticed his black hair was so thick.
