Thanksgiving Renamed
Whatever Thanksgiving is about
for many Americans it’s the freedom
to demonstrate an inalienable wisdom
that there is no sin in gluttony
rather a fundamental right (though alien
to good dining manners and propriety)
whether Jewish, Catholic or Episcopalian
and should be renamed, appropriately,
a national excuse for pigging out.
