Thankful Always
When I’m beset by worries and oh-me’s,
I will myself to dwell instead on all
my blessings, as I build a mental wall
to block dark thoughts and spend time on my knees.
My list starts with the saving of my soul,
because life on this earth is not the end.
Also, for all my family and friends,
I’m grateful. Each fulfills a unique role.
I don’t take health for granted, nor my five
blessed senses that perceive this world’s delights,
its days and nights, its wondrous sounds and sights.
How fortunate I am to be alive!
