Territory of Absolution

Thinking of death before she died, going where we can not yet go but still we must. To be 3,000 miles away when she gave up the ghost and surrendered, eyes closed forever, with nary a sound. Wanting to have said "goodbye mum" when she was still here to hear it, and before the light was gone for her, but not yet for me.
