we made sweet music like a symphony of words then sudden silence I long for spring to return with the Chiffchaff’s joyful song 3~20~15

Thanks Sam it was written for my writing partner Darren, sadly he got ill and we are no longer in contact but i treasure the poems we wrote together and his friendship and support when i was going through a very difficult time in my life:-) hugs Jan xx he did come back to the site briefly but disappeared again

Your "sudden silence" is a devastating pivot. The joyful song almost a Dies Irae. The "longing" so sad, so yearning. I think this is a great tanka. Love, daver

Jan, I love how you did this one, and you are one of the few who understands tanka do not have titles (even though I think it is kind of cute on some of the poems). That last line about the chiffchaff is awesome! I can certainly guess who this one is about. Congrats to you. Keep up the good work.
