Talk Not

TALK NOT Boast not of virtues till you’re amidst temptations Till you’ve slaughtered vices and fought gravely with your soul Talk not of pride till you’ve met those dignified souls Till you’ve faced foes like friends who have hoofs and horns Talk not of strength till your heart has been carved With moments of misery by knives of valour Speak not of love until sacrifice has been known Till understanding and passion have both been captured and merged as one Adorn not in riches till those are ardently yours to stay For, heights are easy to reach, But hard are they to preserve, to sustain or stay And he who holds these lasting treasures to his chest Is the world’s greatest need And the greatest gift
