Taken

You dusted me off like an old book on your shelf,
Like I was something you no longer needed.
Leaving me to sweep away the dust made
From the dirt once on our heels that remained.

You were the one to walk away, for once.
But although you were finally in my shoes,
You walked away once and for all,
Like I was never someone you thought you'd never lose.
