Sunrise Surprise, An Easter Story

Sunrise Surprise, An Easter Story Hi. My name is Mary Magdalene, a close friend and follower of Jesus. My friends, Salome, Joanna, the other Mary, and I visited the tomb of Christ. We went to simply apply fragrances and spices, a routine and customary task. There was nothing special about the Sunday after his death; or so we thought. Jesus had taught us about fantastic things happening in the future; but like every one of his followers, we never really understood many things. As we approached the site, we wondered about the heavy stone. We quizzed each other saying, “Who will remove the stone for us?” As we drew closer, to our surprise, we discovered that the stone was already removed. A little later, there were two men telling us that Jesus’ body was not there. Such news was not simply surprising , but very intriguing and disturbing. Can you imagine how and what we felt about Jesus’ body not being there? We were afraid, but the two men told us to go and tell the eleven disciples. There was another man we assumed to be a gardener, but then he called my name. I was at once convinced that it was Jesus when he spoke and said, “Mary”. So we hurried along and proceeded to tell the disciples what we had experienced. Cj03212016 Bible; PS
