Summer Wakes With Natures Music

Summer wakes with nature’s music Part 1 The storms are rolling through tonight Summer is speaking, thunder claps Echoing across mountains view Many miles display wild weather Passing through, the hills and valleys Birds sing between each round of wind Rain weaves about like instruments Playing songs in a marching band Nature’s music, so many ways I am waiting and listening Ready to clap as the storms pass These are the days when summer wakes Part 2 Quiet time now left from the storm Shaded green trees blanket the hill Thunder fades into the distance Leaving a trail of breeze behind Brushing me, cool refreshing air The ground is wet from fallen rain Birds now hiding some place quiet Slowly they move, not many fly They waited for storms to go by Distant pale skies start to brighten Shiny wet grass begins to dry The smell of rain is in the air Chirping sounds are heard everywhere Music light, then a bit louder Coming from trees shaking off rain Bird songs warble with the rain drops In peace left behind from the storms *8 syllables each line, each part. Heidi, such a wonderful poem, because I am not really a good poet I don't take any notice of syllables, I just love reading the poem and I just love the way you have described nature at it's best, thank you for this delightful read and take care.......Vera

Hi Vera. I have enjoyed your poetry. I like doing free verse and rhyme the best. Sometimes I try other forms or work with the syllables to have fun with the challenge of it. I am happy you enjoyed this one :) Thank you. Have a nice day :)

I love this poem, it's not easy to write 8 syllables per line and have it flow fluently. Beautiful nature poem, before and after the storm :)

Beautiful and picturesque poetry! We had our first 100 degree day today, and my a/c is not cooling the house.

Thank you Sunlite. Wow - 100 degree day and A/C not cooling house must be very uncomfortable. I hope you have something nice and cold to drink and eat that will help you get through :)

There is always something so refreshing after a summer storm passes and now that I have read your wonderful poem Heidi, I will listen the next time I experience one. I can almost here that music now and it is such a sweet sound. I love how you did this, how you bring the reader to right where you are and allow us to share in natures beauty with you.
