Stones and Flowers
And to the stones, I say
despite the bitter sting
of all those cast my way
I’ll still find songs to sing
And when I touch the flowers
and know their sweet perfume
I’ll satisfy the hours
though thorns may trim the bloom
May all of life in consequence
with nods to to sun and showers
keep me in the mindful sense
to love the stones and flowers
