Step Away

There have been many times I stepped up to the plate, Times when I sometimes mistook anger for hate. Then as time passed I began to wonder, Living this life could soon put me under. So then I made a conscious decision, To walk away and to hell with derision. My family were now my prime concern, For them alone I had a lesson to learn. When folk came to me, trouble to seek, I had to have courage to turn my cheek. It was so bloody hard for me not to hit out, I knew I was stronger than a miserable lout. Now I am older living a peaceful life at last, I love my wife, much more than a violent past. © Dave Timperley 09 September 2016

Struggled for years Dan, OK ow though. Putting it on paper makes it sound more dramatic than it was as it was small incidents spread out over many years. Think I have to much time on my hands now, so thoughts kick in. God Bless. D.
