Spring Time

The days are growing longer, warmer The snows are less often, lighter Soon the storms will turn to rain And no longer will I need to plow It will be time to prepare for spring Snow will leave and grass will grow And I will need to cut the grass On the tractor remove the blade And take the chains off the tires Drain the engine and replace the oil Sharpen the mower deck blades Mount the deck and hook it up To be ready to cut the grass On my tractor all year round Always with more work to do Shouting in the Wind, 2018, from this book; The poem "Spring Time' used in the March/April 2018 issue of Utah Life Magazine
