Spring Running Away
The dark mountain looked angry today
Towering in the gray clouds
The ridge lines displayed a face
Staring down at me
Hills that are a monument to this creation
Stand tall before us
It wore white not long ago
When winter dressed the land
Cold air returned again today
It sent spring running away
It is as if the mountain wasn’t pleased
Or my own disappointment I could see
