Spring
Farewell to “old man” winter’s cold embrace.
Hello to Mother Nature’s soft caress.
The smell of Springtime gladness is in place
as flowers do their dance in lilac dress
and bloom toward the heavens in grand grace.
In deepest winter underneath the snow,
the Springtime buds were waiting for the go.
Farewell to coats and hats, gloves and mittens
A frilly smock or sweater just will do.
The vernal taste leaves our hearts quite smitten
as flower fragrance kisses morning dew
and soon longs as spirit to be written.
In deepest winter underneath the ground
the Springtime beauties waited to be found.
