Southern Comfort Sing To Me
OH SOUTHERN COMFORT . . .
Oh Southern Comfort sing to me the way that blues hussy Janice used to sing
And just like that drink Janice Joplin what comfort to me and others you bring
Your so young death and your husky voice songs reminisce deep into my soul
Hope you are swinging up there in heaven - singing with a voice no less whole
With that bottle of Southern Comfort in your hand that hides the behind pain
One of the greatest Janis Joplin - oh I wished you could have stayed to remain
Old age you could still have blasted out those songs like an angel gone wrong
Then we would have followed you as we saw you mellow in your husky songs
Oh Southern Comfort in our tears could you just bring some comfort to us all
For that untimely exit Janis Joplin left us all to go and make that heavenly call
Playing on my juke box all the songs reminiscing the good old times you bring
Oh Southern Comfort sing to me the way that blues hussy Janice used to sing
