Sounds Like Yesterday

Sounds on the radio remind me of the past The old times reverberate in my soul The friends of my childhood appear once more The past - that "brilliant seashore" is not really dead It is there as a pillow to lie on If you are open to it Mistakes can be erased Old friendships renewed The tunes on my radio Keep me grounded And I take joy in that

Yes, we all must stay grounded; there's nothing quite like music to help with that; it's not known as the Universal Language, for nothing. It does take one back in time; hey, maybe music is the real time machine? Oh well, I enjoyed this write very much.

you must be listening to the golden oldies. I rarely resurrect them because I am always keeping up on the latest tunes. but it's wonderful to hear an old song from out of nowhere and be stirred by the memory it invokes.

At night I switch on music before going to sleep. I listen to classical music - which my late father loved - New Age music and golden oldies as well as jazz. My late father set 8 of my poems to music and my nephew has set a poem of mine to rock and roll. Look up Demon, Demon by Ghost Funk Orchestra on the web to hear it.
