Solace

As the pale gray skies open doors to light,
The end of the day prepares for the night
Hills are still frozen, from the spell winter cast
With all the snow and northern cold in a blast
When memories linger, like cold winter’s grip
With no place to go, like a lost aimless ship,
There are many questions for the mind to ponder
Letting go of hard shackles, so one can wander
Free to find the open path of solace ahead,
That will replenish the injured soul instead
Joy is found with hope, on a trip sought
To find yourself beyond all that was taught
You are the captain on the road that you find
To capture every sunset that settles the mind
