Soft Shadows Loose
Listen to poem:
In twilight soft shadows drift in gossamer mist
their borders ill-defined, blurry and fuzzy.
Low light, the essence of soft shadows,
is like a murmur, gently bespoken and barely heard.
Images with soft shadows are so becoming and flattering
with the hard edge profiles smoothed away.
Soft shadows are semi-detached, loosely lingering,
staying attached by the merest fragile threads.
As the light fades bonds break,
and soft shadows drift off like ghosts.
For in essence, soft shadows like to be alone
in the dark, in solitary confinement.
