Slow Fade

I am not here just to feed your ego 

Or to validate the decisions you have made 

You stay stuck and refuse to grow 

I’ll start my journey to slow fade 

 

I am going to start acting like you  

To hold a mirror to the actions you displayed 

You push and pull, stop, then start anew 

Forcing me into a steady slow fade 

 

I am not here for your breadcrumbs 

My hunger for more cannot be delayed 

You run when the connection comes 

So now it’s time for my slow fade 

 

I am not feeling you in this void 

But rather, as though I’ve been played 

You resist all emotions to further avoid 

Pushing me into this quiet slow fade 

 

I am not going to chase you anymore 

When choosing me causes you to be afraid 

You act like loving me is a chore 

This is why I choose to slow fade 

 

I am done playing this tortuous game 

I stopped caring for this foolish charade 

You don’t even pretend to feel the same 

This bull**** propels me into the slow fade
