I lay my head on my mother's shoulder feeling her loving embrace.
She gently pats my back while she holds me to her warm breast,
so sweet and inviting to rest
a safe and pleasant place.
“Sleep, my love,
nothing will happen worth thinking of.
I will still be here when the doves
alight up above,
on the nest beneath the eaves
mixing a harmony of leaves.”
As the minutes tick by thee and flee,
ribbons of magic wound around me;
“Come away with me”.
The cold instantly melted away into the warmth and scent of myrrh
feeling a kitten's purr.
I finally dropped off to sleep
never heard the chicks peep.
I lay my head on my mother's shoulder feeling her loving embrace.
She gently pats my back while she holds me to her warm breast,
so sweet and inviting to rest
a safe and pleasant place.
