Slave To Love
Splitting your garden’s rocky ledge
a sapling grows on edge of pathway.
A lone bud blooms in spring unnoticed
like an obscure flower called love in me.
You waft past me on zooming zephyr,
blowing a storm of fervor through me.
I hold the ruffled petals close to heart
lest they stray away from your shadow.
In the diffuse gleam of the falling twilight
your swaying stride tramples me unaware.
Trodden servile I dream of you at night,
but like the sun on your sky I rise again.
From the floral shackles of destiny
I’ve no escape for I’m slave to love.
