Sipping Cider With My Sweetheart
Sipping Cider with my Sweetheart
Winter changes things.
Stirs the imagination
as she walks into the café
bundled in a long coat
sealed with a scarf and hat.
A tempting hint of pursed lips
shuddering under blinking eyes,
a deep exhale allowing the warmth
of this coffee fueled haven
to loosen her scarf.
Her lips, - blanched by Winter’s kiss
poutily moistened with anticipation,
a thawed tear of relief
dampening her cheek,
eyes adjusting to the heat
of steaming coffee
and raucous chatter.
Beauty - captured in a face
freed by the folly
of Winter’s wanton winds.
