Silenced Sighs
Vast are their numbers,unknown their names
Staring helpless,with needs unseen
Their screams silenced their sighs;
Hungry,helpless their questioning eyes
Drought,destruction and crippling disease
Perhaps a few pounds now will appease
Those silenced sounds and sighs;
Hungry,helpless questions with piercing eyes.
