Silence

Don’t gasp, Don’t lisp, Don’t mumble, Don’t choke My opinions went unheard, no one cared that i spoke Pretty hourglass and the clothes, oh so woke A delicate wave and the attention on her remains unbroke Whereas, I will the earth to open up and swallow me whole I wish to scream but not before donning my invisibility cloak In my mind bounces a lot of unleashed words My sacred thoughts which they called absurd A controversy in me, waiting to be stirred Maybe If I was pretty, maybe then I would have been heard Maybe If my voice was a charismatic euphony and not a croak Don’t gasp, Don’t lisp, Don’t mumble, Don’t choke My opinions went unheard, no one cared that i spoke Expressing your opinion, raising your voice is not child’s play There are norms as to who and how, these you can’t betray More the weight of you, the less of your opinions says the survey Polish those guccis, dust those diamonds and then your opinion can stay Be as broken as the universe, but dare not display But my overweight brown skin is as shiny as it is broke Don’t gasp, Don’t lisp, Don’t mumble, Don’t choke My opinions went unheard, no one cared that i spoke
