Should I

What is behind that smile? Would she walk with me a while? As her brown eyes dance I’m mesmerized, entranced She stares. What does she know? What gives her cheeks that vibrant glow? Should I ask, perhaps approach? Nay, I fear a coy reproach Content I must be to admire and pass But Mona Lisa’s smile fills my heart of glass For Nathan's perspectives from "The Opposite Sex" challenge

This is a very nice write of yours. I enjoyed the read. Classic art always intrigues me because of the simplicities of beauty that are here, available for our view at any time in life... Somehow at times we all seem to be to busy to even see them with the hustle and bustle, where I am at now, I just smile at the old time ways, attitudes, always love the old people. The children always have pertinent views too! :)we can all learn something from them. Yes,"you must be like this Child" Jesus said.

Your poem captures the allure of Mona Lisa's (any gorgeous woman's) beauty & mystery. I feel the young man's painful lack of confidence (with perhaps, sweaty palms, nervous breath, & bashful blushing) as this potential suitor loses in his battle against his own fear of rejection. Resigned to never getting close enough to speak to her, he'll just watch from the distance. (sigh, the yearning & regret) Wonder whether she ever noticed him looking, and if she felt the same insecurity to speak to him?
