Shifting
I was having a bad day,
and needed some time to play.
Thinking some fun food,
might lighten my mood.
Walking to the corner store
to buy potato chips and more.
I saw a young girl jumping rope.
Her smiling face gave me hope.
I was going to give it a try,
until I saw the little girl fly.
She lost her footing and fell,
got up, and looked to be well.
It didn't feel right, but her
mishap made me feel
alright.
