Seed

On a late-autumn day when my heart was as cold and rough as the wind, I met you, one so like myself. We both managed a weak, grimace-like smile and "Hello." That day a seed, like winter wheat, was planted in unprepared soil. Growth began-- slow, awkward, even painful, at the beginning. By summer, our time together had engendered a splendid bond of golden love and laughter. Precious realities may spring from seeds planted on cold late-autumn days. placed 4th in a January 2018 contest March 2, 2018, entered in Brian Strand's contest 405

This is SO fantastic, Janice. I have got to go see if it is entered in the contest he just judged or in the latest one. IF it was entered in the one already judged and did not win, I am going to be disappointed for you. A FAVE

I love the truth told in this write, and most clever/poetic was the telling. Good luck with Brian! All the best to you in 2018. Poetry hugs ... CayCay
