Seasonal Creek
The seasonal creek gushes with warm spring rains
Like blood flowing from fresh cut veins
The path of least resistance is revealed with intricate surprises
As the depth of the rivulet continually rises
Babbling and gurgling it cuts it courses
Teaming like a herd of galloping horses
Alas, spring gives way to summer's physical sensations
As bumble bees battle over the water with vexing vibrations
The stream where angry waters once unfurled in swirls
Now lay in puddles like strung out pearls
One by one disappearing, with death to those stranded
Drying up like bones the hot desert winds have sanded
One by one until there is only one left
This last one must have the deepest depth
It is here to where my attentions turn
Every quagmire in life has a lesson to learn
Get to where you are going before your route dries up
You can't drink to life without liquid in your cup
Swim all the way through this existence into which you have came
Don't leave yourself stranded praying for rain
