Very clever Than Bauk, Gershon, and frightening too. Considering the weather some states are having, it's not surprising you thought of ice bergs. (Been in the 40s here all day, but I shouldn't complain.) Best wishes in Charlie's contest!

Thank you for your kind words, Carolyn...Actually, I was reading about glacier melt in Antarctica in the latest issue of "Scientific American." … Though Chicago was colder today than some parts of Antarctica, amazingly enough, … and yet we're a long way from those icebergs, thank Heaven! ~ Gershon

Thank you so much for your generous evaluation of this, my attempt at a Than Bauk. … In all honesty, I definitely would not bet against your TB in the contest! (See my comment on your site). Best wishes always! ~ Gershon

The imagery is superb in your excellently written poem, Gershon! Glad you defined calve in this context. Good luck in the contest! :)

I’ve heard the calving. It is white “thunder” and so cool. When a piece rushes into the water, it creates waves that rock the boats.

Wow. Sounds amazing. I'll bet it's simply unforgettable, kind of like the live birth of a calf in that sense, I guess. Thank you for educating me about this, Kim, and for all of your support and encouragement. Best wishes, Gershon
