Sea Side

Drenched with sun’s light is this shore. As I walk, I see gulls soar, but my soul sails not with them. He is by my side no more. March 15, 2020 for Jenish Somadas' Let The Pens Flow - Jueju Poetry Contest

Excellent use of single syllable words to convey the poetic collision of sea, flight, and sadness. This smells like a winner to me. Wonderful write, friend ~ John

It is sad that he is no longer by your side. It takes away from the beauty of what you are seeing because your heart is missing some one who means a lot to you. I feel you. Nicely done.

Quite a tribute. I managed to get one of the last flights from London to Spain. And am no confined to my house. With lots of books and my wife by my side. Bliss.

Andrea, I can feel the ennui in this poem. Such a bright day to enjoy, should be enjoyed. Though brightest colors fade first from the sunlight. Good luck to you in the contest. -Richard

Perfectly executed, Andrea, and tinged with sadness. Very smooth in flow and rhyme. This should do really well. Did you find it hard finding all those one-syllable words?

Awesome little gem, Andrea. Love the imagery of the shore, gulls soaring, soul sailing... and the loneliness. It's like looking in four directions one after the other. A beauty. Well penned.
