Santa Surveys The Scene

Red coats matching, Santa and a reindeer,
His favourite deer from the famous team,
Gazing out on a midnight cold and clear,
Illuminated by shafts of moonbeam.

His favourite deer from the famous team,
Nimble Dancer, sure-footed in the snow,
Illuminated by shafts of moonbeam,
As he contemplates the vista below.

Nimble Dancer, sure-footed in the snow,
Waiting patiently by his master's side,
As he contemplates the vista below,
Where the parish priest and his flock reside.

Waiting patiently by his master's side,
Sensing his wonder at the shining star,
Where the parish priest and his flock reside,
Sign of joy to all nothing else can mar.

Sensing his wonder at the shining star,
Dancer knows what he and Santa have seen
Sign of joy to all nothing else can mar,
And they both understand what it will mean.

Dancer knows what he and Santa have seen,
Gazing out on a midnight cold and clear,
And they both understand what it will mean,
Red coats matching, Santa and a reindeer.

I could picture this scene so well, Beth and I loved the personal tone you set between Santa and his reindeer. Congratulations on your high placement.
