Return of my love

Stationed at the station Wondering where you are The whistle from the conductor Surely your not far The steam begins to move Across the station floor And still I’m waiting, anticipating Until I see you once more The dampness of the evening The glow from low lit lamps The station very busy All rushing up the ramps I’m sad, I’m lost yet hopeful That soon you will be there But for now I will wait On the old wooden station chair The snowflakes mix with fog now Upon the station floor Hooting of a new steam train Do I see you at the door Your there, I jump to greet you Running to your arms The warmth, the love the calmness After years of praying you weren’t harmed We walk slowly out of the station My sweetheart so worn and tattered It’s like no time has passed between us And nothing else really mattered

The anxiety and wait is always worth it when there is a happy ending, as in your account. A good one, Angela.
