Retirement is Not For Me
On days that I work I wake up with a purpose,
I get up an hour early, so I can paint or write or play word games.
On days off, I lie around, not doing anything, lost, listless, lethargic.
I feel like my batteries have been pulled.
I feel purposeless.
People ask, "When are you going to retire?"
They obviously know me naught.
I'll be pulled out of my work environment in a body bag
When I'm 91.
Until then, I'm working every day I can.
Retirement is certainly not an option.
I'm not even the walking dead on my day off.
I'm the lying around dead.
And I'm not ready.
