Lamb and the Lion
Sleepy soundly child
A newborn lamb
Naïve, clumsy, helpless
Enclosed in wrought iron pen
Impenetrable from without
Draped all around
From top to ground
With a royal purple cloak
Nestled in soft hay
Evil lurking about
Seeking, testing, charging
Just suckled and fed
Fiercest lion overhead
Omnipotence at rest
Sprawled across the robe
Magnificent mane
Even healthy coat
Confident swaying tail
Eyes piercing the light of day
Keeping the nemesis at bay
Commanding bereft attention
At the ready to defend
Clothed to defeat
Heart may rest
Gut may ease
Mind may slow
Soul may raise
Body rests.
