Remember Us
We sit at our booths outside businesses looking for donations
We could use a little help from our beautiful nation
Don't be discouraged if you haven't any extra money to give
Please remember we fought bravely for your freedom so you could live
Please don't walk by us with your head down in vain
It fills our hearts with a melancholy sadness and pain
Smiles are free and acknowledgement is certainly nice
Some of our sacrifices came at the ultimate price
Don't fill our hearts and eyes with tears of sorrow
We brought you the hope of a better tomorrow
We hoped to bring you peace while you'd sleep each night
We worked tirelessly around the clock keeping up the fight
Our battle seemed endless, long and hard
It left our bodies and hearts deeply scarred
Without rhyme or reason we would do it again
Take the time to honor and remember us my friend
Together united with honor proudly we stand
Don't forget about us leaving our memories ashes to ashes dust to dust in the sand
Find peace in your heart and do what you know to be true
Please pray for all of us the way we've done for all of you and the red, white and blue
