Remember, Remember
Remember, remember the 11th of November,
When the guns fell silent on the lands at last.
Remember, remember, all those who have passed,
From life unto death for a cause to save more,
They suffered and died on a foreign shore.
Old men and young boys, some scarce out of school.
Willingly gave their all to stop the enemy's rule.
In the war to end all wars the historians said,
Millions of lives, young and old were shed.
But it didn't end there like they thought it would,
Another world war came to shed even more blood.
Then Korea, Vietnam, The Gulf and Afghanistan.
Took the young and the brave, sent there to save
The world from itself as it drove the road to hell.
Have we learned anything from this litany of hate?
Maybe one day we'll know as we reach Heavens Gate.
So remember, remember, those who died for your sake,
At 11 past 11 on 11 be silent for 2 minutes take.
