Rebirth of Spring
I see leaves frozen in the ice
Like a window to the death of fall
Other leaves crunching in the grass
With a language yet to be heard
Black crows caw from the bushes
Where smooth acorns roll along
On a path with pinecones scattered
Leading the way, zig-zag to somewhere
Winter is here, with brisk wind felt
Even though the skies are bright blue
I walk by trees that are standing still
Waiting to hold the snow on branches,
In their glistening, white winter coats
This is where the bear go to hibernate
Until woken by a soft, warm breeze
To see color in the re-birth of spring
