Rain

I love to feel the wind on my face; Bask in the warmth of the sun’s embrace. As light misty rain touches my skin In divine delight I go within. . . The wind becomes an internal force. The sun enters my heart on its course, But rain endeavors to keep me whole And helps to sustain my very soul. © 2011 Connie Marcum Wong This poem was written to be metaphoric with the wind representing internal conflict, the sun having a calming effect and the rain quenching spiritual thirst. I am sure no one will get it, so I thought I would explain. I have had recent eye surgery so my time on the computer is limited.

So nice to find this great one this morn.. I agree and some of the happiest days in my life were sitting on our front porch and watching the rain cascade down upon the fields and trees in our yard. With me sitting there comfortable, dry and enjoying God's gifts. I got the easily seen and the deeper meanings at first reading...

Connie Thank you for sharing this poem. I love your explanation about the rain. I have written several poems about rain. To me rain nurtures, I love making warm soup on a rainy day. I hope you recover quick from your eye surgery. Nice meeting you in PS. Dalila

lovely poem and so poetic in the inferences to nature to describe the legitimate pain and joy of being human. Very well executed Connie. Nice

connie, coming back here to say hello, and I hope you will post your Egypt poem. you might as well. The judge may not like mine. From the example of hers I saw, she likes serious ones! well, it's nearly 11 p.m and I promised Joe I'd be upstairs at 11. So that was very short playtime I had tonight. I am falling so behind, but he will be driving in a new job in a few days. YAY! finally a decent pay!!

I got the meaning before reading the explanation at the end. You created a visual that I can relate to. I think this poem means that you are open to........umm, I'm not sure what label to use. I find myself now in the same intense state all the time. It is so much bigger than me, and I love it. I find the question, "Who am I?" in my head. And I too am open to the rain....the wind....the reminders that I am 'aware'.....of new possibilities.....my creation of everything surrounding me....
