Rain-Drenched Hair

As rain-drenched hair fell down her face by tombstone where she sadly stood, the storm clouds dark, time stopped in place as rain-drenched hair fell down her face. Her daughter gone without a trace; why suicide? Not understood as rain-drenched hair fell down her face by tombstone where she sadly stood. One of my husbands nieces committed suicide - to this day no one knows why - a 16 year old lovely young girl. Very sad. Poetry hugs, Jennifer.

I can feel your heart in every word. These emotions of sadness and pain. When someone ends their life, it affects everyone around them. This is beautiful and tender, all at the same time. ~ Brandy

Thank you for your thoughts, Brandy. It is so hard to understand the reasons why a young person would decide to end their life and you’re right, it does affect everyone around them. Such a tragedy.

I can only imagine how painful it would be to lose a child to suicide. Parents tend to blame themselves when that happens and they never get over it. Your poem conveys that pain so poignantly John. I am sure to see this high on her winner's list. Have a lovely Easter my friend. : ) xxoo

Thanks, Connie. This subject has been lingering with me lately, I have a good client and friend whose 20 year old son took his life a couple weeks ago. I try to put myself in their shoes but I just can't imagine pain and sorrow they are going through right now. I hope their faith and resolve is enough to get them past this. Happy Easter to you as well my friend. John
