This night I had the silliest of dreams, also a little scary. Being sick in a hospital, with high fever, it has sometimes funny side-effects. I tried to put it into words.

I dreamt I entered contests Not one or two, but all The deadline was tomorrow... I wrote and wrote those pests This would be my downfall Why was I so slow? My paper tore, my pen ran dry My hands were sweaty clumps My head was sore I almost cried My throat felt filled with lumps I dreamt I hated rhyming I hated contests too Why did I have to do this! Also such crazy timing (I'll call it Poetry Zoo) Kicks me into my abyss My fever spiked Was I insane? I crumpled all those words I never liked My silly brain Turned sentences to birds ~~~~ A gentle hand calmed me down A nurse, with water and a frown: "You had a very small break down, Wake up, I'll stay a while around". ~~~~ January 11, 2017

One doesn't need contests to know they are gifted at writing. Challenge yourself with your own style and inspiration. The contest in one's own mind. :) Your doing just fine.

Haha, yeah, sort of nightmare, but so silly that I wanted to share it with you all :) No contests for me today!

That was a crazy dream or perhaps a crazy nightmare. But these contests will do that to you it seems. Still, dream/nightmare or not, a wonderful poem came from your slumbered adventure and now it is our dream to read and enjoy.

You amaze me! In your condition, you still plug them out! Makes me wonder what kind of animals live in the poetry zoo. Well I'm a wolf and you're a penguin, Maybe that'll do! Ha
