So long I waited to write poetry No self belief Once I started penning An instant therapeutic release Words buried so deep Flowed endlessly Held captive in my mind Now cascading free Reluctant to show my thoughts Fearful of inferiority My soul and spirit suppressed Not truly being me ….. I am no intellect I write as I articulate Simple , heart words For “me” to celebrate! So please don’t let insecurities stop you As poetry is to be enjoyed Don’t allow your fear to hinder you Creating a soul and spirit void! Don’t concern yourself with others This is solely for you Pen your poems with pride “To yourself you must be true!”
